I am a creator, and art lover. I am an artist, and fan of abstract art. I am also a lover of everything that surrounds us - nature, architecture and hidden treasures.
I grew up in Casper, Wyoming and have gradually made my way to the west coast. All of it spent in relatively small communities. I am a wife, mother of two incredible young adults and a fabric artist.
The foundation of my work is color and shape. I am intrigued by the use of color and how one color affects the other colors around them. My techniques are continually evolving and improving. I take classes whenever possible to learn new processes that I can incorporate into my work. It keeps me growing and improving and keeps my work exciting for me to produce.
I learned to sew at an early age from my mother. I have always created things. I have done pottery, beading, made paper and even designed jewelry. Then in 2008 everything changed. My mother brought me a book about quilt journaling, I thought it would be an interesting way to jump start my creativity. Little did I know it would be the perfect creative outlet for me, I am now hopelessly addicted.
I enjoy creating my pieces from beginning to end. Each step is an adventure which sometimes can lead to the unexpected.
Now speaking of the unexpected... I happened upon a website which created a new obsession for me. I discovered Katwise. She produces some incredible sweater coats and has also created a tutorial. I purchased her tutorial and am now producing my own version of the Sweaters. I re-purpose sweaters to make my creations. Each one is unique.
I hope you like what you see here.
